SAN DIEGO'S BEST OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMPGROUNDS

I loved camping as a child. We still find a special magic in camping even as adults. We are so fortunate here in San Diego to enjoy almost perfect weather almost year-round. This alone makes adventure and outdoor adventures more enjoyable. We also have so many diverse camping and RV park locations in San Diego, ranging from lofty mountains to picturesque bays and oceans in in San Diego.

You have not lived if you have never spent a night under the stars.

If you're looking for campgrounds in San Diego County to pitch a tent or hook up an RV, here is a list of some of the best ones.

Award-winning, pet-friendly Campland on the Bay has provided RV and tent campsites in San Diego for over 50 years, making it one of the area's most popular campgrounds.

Swimming and a hot tub are among the amenities here, as well as tennis courts, a skate park, basketball courts, and watercraft rentals. Our favorite beach activity is campfires on the bay. The SeaWorld fireworks are also spectacular in the summer at this location.

In addition to the restaurant, there is a market, an ice cream parlor, and numerous children's activities available at the campground. Laundry services are also available.

The Costa Vista resort, Southern California's newest upscale getaway, is scheduled to open in April 2021. With its bayfront location, this resort offers full hookup RV sites with private patios, stone paver fire pits, a dining area, tables and chairs, a picnic area, and free cable and internet access. We also rent one- and two-bedroom cottages with all the comforts of home. On-site laundry facilities are available.

There is a spacious clubhouse that offers scheduled activities and movies, pancake breakfasts, steak dinners, and board games near two massive rock fireplaces. Furthermore, a swimming pool and oversized Jacuzzi are available to guests, as well as a fishing lake. Those who camp in tents will find comfortable bathrooms, showers, and spacious dressing areas. There are several sports courts and miniature golf courses on site, as well as laundry facilities.

97 campsites, including partial and full RV hookups as well as car camping and tipi sites, are available at the campground. This park offers a scavenger hunt as well as many other fun games and activities for families and kids. There is 24-hour access to restrooms and showers. The property is filled with picnic tables and fire rings. Boating and fishing are allowed in the lake (but fishing permits are required). Bait and tackle supplies, firewood, propane, snacks, and bait are available at the lakes Bait and Tackle shop and campground entrance station.

The popular KOA in San Diego overlooks De Anza Cove and is just 15 minutes from downtown. Camping at this resort is a great family outing and one of San Diego's most popular camping spots. Campsites are available for RVs, tents, and deluxe cabins for those who don't mind a little less roughing it.

It offers a gorgeous sandy beach and calm cove waters, as well as an outdoor pool and hot tub. There is a basketball court, horseshoes, a climbing wall, jumping pillows, a playground, ping pong tables, and a game room for recreation. There is a super popular game called Surf Shack Shootout on their website. There is no pet policy in the cabins. Pets are welcome on the resort.

Flashlight Lollipop Hunts and art and craft projects are organized by a full-time activities director. Would you like to see a movie under the stars? Just bring blankets and chairs. We offer popcorn, cotton candy, and hot chocolate for just $1 each! Camping with Smores is an absolute must-do for any camping excursion.

A Safari Park in San Diego admission ticket is required, as well as proof of membership. With the adventure package, guests receive tent accommodations, dinner, breakfast, and smores as well as access to nearby wildlife viewing areas and other camp activities.

Falling asleep to the sounds of birds and other animals roaming freely in a park is one thing. There is nothing like looking up at a clear, star-studded sky and listening to the roar of lions.

San Elijo State Beach is a beautiful Southern California State Park where you can camp and listen to the surf as you drift off to sleep. There are 165 campsites at the park, with one third located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Here in San Diego, RVs, trailers, and tents can be parked. There is a world-famous surf break located right near the campground, so you can swim, surf, or beachcomb right there. There are fishing and whale-watching opportunities nearby.

A close proximity to dozens of restaurants makes camping here another benefit. Camping purists will enjoy the BBQ grills located on site. Additionally, there are picnic tables, fire pits, fire rings, restrooms, and showers. Experiencing beach camping for the first time is a wonderful experience!
