Just a little heads up. San Diego's Old Town is not the place to find authentic Mexican food. It's best to go to National City, Chula Vista, or San Ysidro to get that. Is this San Diego's best Italian restaurant? Probably not. This is one of those neighborhood joints where locals come for good food, a friendly waiter, and great value. Among their signature dishes is Scampi alla Giulio, an iridescent white wine sauce with shrimp over pasta tossed with garlic and mushrooms. So good!
The restaurant is considered a top seafood restaurant in San Diego by many. Despite not being fancy, the fish tacos are excellent. In addition to their grilled swordfish that is cooked to perfection, they also serve huge bowls of Cioppino. It's a must if you like seafood!
